Review the evidence and revise your statement

Revising a statement means changing your wording when new information changes what you can reasonably say. It is not a demand to become more positive. The aim is a statement that fits the evidence and can still change later.

Keep the earlier wording available for comparison. Suppose the original statement was “I never ask for help.” After one opportunity, the evidence is “I asked someone to clarify the instructions.” A careful revision is “I asked for help in this situation; I do not yet know what makes that easier or harder elsewhere.” One action challenges “never” without proving a permanent change.

Evidence can support one part of a statement and challenge another. Include the opportunity, what you did or did not do, the conditions, and the cost. Practised, partly practised, missed with an opportunity, no opportunity, not attempted, and unknown are descriptions—not scores.

You can acknowledge responsibility while also naming context, uncertainty, or a skill to develop. If a chance did not arise, there may be nothing new to conclude yet.

Choose one useful observation or possible next action to carry forward, if you want. You decide what stays private. No diagnosis, treatment effect, or identity transformation follows from this review.

Journal minimum: Save at least one short note in a Try or Reflect box for this lesson. You do not have to answer every question. Write what you noticed, a question, or what you still do not know. If you have not tried the activity, say so. You can use the example instead of personal details. This leaves something to return to in later lessons. Saving is not sharing.
