Module 9 — Choose a Direction That Fits Capacity · Step 2 of 3 · About 30 min
Pick a direction card that fits your capacity
Choose one equal direction that fits the time, money, support and commitments you actually have.
Teach
1 of 5A direction card is a way to organise a current choice, not assign an identity. Choose the card that best fits the evidence and capacity you have now. You can consider more than one direction or remain uncertain.
The three equal cards are:
- Work / training pathway.
- Project / venture / creative offer.
- Stabilise / pause / continue looking.
Entrepreneurship is one option within the second card, not the goal of the program. Service or contribution can fit inside any card if you want it; it is not an additional requirement.
For the direction you are considering, ask what it is allowed to ask of you and what it is not allowed to cost. Bring the affordability boundary from the cost review into this check. Time, energy, accessibility, support, uncertainty, and responsibilities belong alongside interest.
For example, “Explore a course while protecting my current shifts” names both a direction and a limit. “Pause while I check transport options” is also a direction decision. A structural barrier is not evidence that you lack purpose or commitment.
The cards have equal legitimacy. A job is not a fallback from a venture, and a pause is not a failed purpose search. Choose a workable next position, not a permanent label.
Journal minimum: Save at least one short note in a Try or Reflect box for this lesson. You do not have to answer every question. Write what you noticed, a question, or what you still do not know. If you have not tried the activity, say so. You can use the example instead of personal details. This leaves something to return to in later lessons. Saving is not sharing.
