Module 9 — Choose a Direction That Fits Capacity · Step 1 of 3 · About 35 min
Review the evidence and redefine success-now
Look back at what you actually tried and learned, and write what success means for you right now.
Teach
1 of 7Success-now describes what a useful next step would look like under your current conditions. It does not have to be a permanent life goal. Your understanding of meaning or purpose may develop through experience, remain unclear, or change; you do not need to settle it before deciding.
Use existing records rather than an autobiography: what you thought, what you tried, what happened, what you learned, and what changed. Include evidence you would rather not see, as well as evidence that supports your preferred direction.
For example, someone may have expected to enjoy a project and then noticed that a supported beginner task was interesting, while the timetable was unworkable. Success-now might be “Find an accessible way to learn more without losing paid hours.” That is a practical standard for the next choice, not a verdict on their future.
Passion, inspiration, purpose, and success are different. Interest does not guarantee access. Feeling inspired does not remove costs. A good next decision can protect stability even when no clear passion appears.
Write the statement without an imposed “should.” You can choose work, training, a project, a pause, or continued looking. No destiny claim, trauma disclosure, purpose diagnosis, or depth of personal story is required.
Journal minimum: Save at least one short note in a Try or Reflect box for this lesson. You do not have to answer every question. Write what you noticed, a question, or what you still do not know. If you have not tried the activity, say so. You can use the example instead of personal details. This leaves something to return to in later lessons. Saving is not sharing.
Show — a neutral example, never a participant story
