Doing the try means following the plan inside the limits you set—not proving how much you can push through. Recheck the learning question, scope, time limit, and stop rule before beginning. If a needed condition is unavailable, you can revise the plan or record that the try did not happen.

For example, a planned beginner task may require a tool you cannot access. “Tool unavailable; task not attempted” is an accurate record. It does not tell you whether you would enjoy the activity, but it does tell you what would need to change before you could find out.

Attempting with support is not less valid than attempting alone. Observing a demonstration and planning only can also help you understand the steps or identify missing information. Keep the record clear about which route you used; observing is not the same as performing.

Notice what happened without expanding the task to force a better result. If the stop rule is reached, stop or change the activity as planned. Record the limit and what remained unfinished.

No bigger second try is required in this session. If another question appears, save it for a later decision. The useful outcome is an honest account of this bounded try, including what did not happen and what is still unknown.

Journal minimum: Save at least one short note in a Try or Reflect box for this lesson. You do not have to answer every question. Write what you noticed, a question, or what you still do not know. If you have not tried the activity, say so. You can use the example instead of personal details. This leaves something to return to in later lessons. Saving is not sharing.
